TEETH WHITENING AFTER CARE INSTRUCTIONS

To maintain your results and keep your smile looking its best, proper aftercare is important. After your whitening treatment, your teeth are more open to absorbing stains, especially within the first 24 to 48 hours.

🚫 What to Avoid (First 24–48 Hours)

  • Avoid colored foods and drinks
Wine, coffee, tea, chocolate, berries, beets, and dark sauces can stain your teeth during this time. If you do drink beverages like coffee or tea, using a straw can help reduce contact.
  • Avoid acidic foods and drinks
Lemons, limes, soda, fruit juices, pickles, and alcohol can increase sensitivity and affect your results.
  • Avoid very hot or cold foods
Some sensitivity is normal after whitening. Stick to foods and drinks that feel comfortable for you.
  • Avoid tobacco use
Smoking or tobacco can quickly stain your teeth after treatment. Try to avoid it as much as possible during this period.

✅ What You Can Eat

Stick to lighter, low-pigment foods to protect your results:

  • Chicken or turkey
  • Fish
  • Plain yogurt
  • Leafy greens (spinach, lettuce, kale)
  • Bananas, apples, pears
  • White rice or white creamy pasta
  • Dairy products like milk and cheese
  • Water (stay hydrated throughout the day)

FUN FACT: IF IT CAN STAIN YOUR WHITE SHIRT, IT CAN STAIN YOUR TEETH!

TOOTH GEMS AFTER CARE INSTRUCTIONS

To keep your tooth gem secure and looking its best, proper aftercare is important. The first 24 hours are the most important for allowing the bond to fully set.

🚫 What to Avoid (First 24–48 Hours)

  • Avoid eating hard or sticky foods
This includes candy, gum, ice, and crunchy foods that can loosen the gem before it fully sets.
  • Avoid touching or picking at the gem
It may feel new at first, but avoid playing with it to prevent it from coming loose.
  • Avoid brushing directly over the gem
You can still brush your teeth, just be gentle around the area for the first day.

✅ After the First 24 Hours

  • You can return to your normal eating habits
  • Brush and floss as usual, just be mindful around the gem
  • Continue good oral hygiene to keep the area clean and your gem shining

FUN FACT: IF YOU DRINK COFFEE after 24 HOURS, DRINK IT THROUGH A STRAW!

TIPS TO PREVENTING STAINS:

Brush your teeth immediately after eating foods that could stain.
Use a sensitive toothpaste if you need to so you can continue to brush often.
Follow good dental hygiene including brushing, flossing, and using clear mouthwash.

Professional whitening treatments do not damage your enamel in the way at-home treatments do. If you regularly consume foods that stain your teeth, consider having a touch-up done every 2-3 months.
